Interview
A.S
Joined in 2021 Born January 2000 Osaka Office Planning Division- What made you choose this company?
I thought I could learn the entire process from pre-construction to completion. I was also attracted to how they create distinctive designs for each project. Another aspect I’ve come to appreciate since joining is we handle more projects, which allows us to gain more knowledge compared to other companies.
- What's the company atmosphere like?
How do you feel about your coworkers? The supervisors are all kind and explain new things clearly and thoroughly. Many of my senior colleagues are close to my age, making it easier to ask questions when I’m unsure about something. Also, there’s a clear separation between work and private life, so we can value our personal time.
- Could you tell us about your responsibilities, role,
and what you find fulfilling about your work? I was assigned to the Planning Division as I hoped, and I’m currently working on investigating site restrictions and regulations before the planning phase begins. Each property has different restrictions, and I’m finding that architecture becomes more fascinating the more I learn about it. I’m enjoying the process of gradually building my knowledge.
- Through your current work,
how do you feel you've changed or grown? I’ve realized that what I learned as a student was just a small, simple part of the bigger picture. When my supervisors check my drawings, each correction reminds me that I still need to improve my sense of responsibility and attention to detail. When I first started, I had very little architectural knowledge and couldn’t even understand what city officials were saying, but recently I’ve begun to understand things bit by bit, which makes me feel I’ve grown somewhat.
- Do you have a message for
students who are job hunting?
