Interview
T.N
Joined in 2018 Born June 1996 Tokyo Office Design Division- What made you choose this company?
It matched what I was looking for – I wanted to be involved in residential design, and I preferred a small to medium-sized company rather than a large corporation where I could gain diverse experience from a young age. I was also attracted to their focus on architectural design. Since joining, I’ve had opportunities that would be rare at other companies, like working on university planning projects, which has given me invaluable learning experiences.
- What's the company atmosphere like?
How do you feel about your coworkers? There’s a positive lack of rigid hierarchy, making it easy to consult with supervisors. We can mix casual conversation with work, creating a well-balanced, comfortable working environment.
- Could you tell us about your responsibilities, role,
and what you find fulfilling about your work? I’ve experienced various roles including design, building permit applications, and administrative consultations. While each role had its challenges and I hit many walls, I feel a sense of achievement every time I overcome these obstacles. That’s when I can proudly say it was worth the effort.
- Through your current work,
how do you feel you've changed or grown? I’ve learned to think and act with foresight. By working with the assumption that unexpected situations will always arise, I’ve developed better problem-solving skills. Quick response to issues builds trust with our clients. The design profession is built entirely on human connections. I think what’s changed most is developing a sense of responsibility as a company member, ensuring that the trust built by many people since the company’s founding isn’t broken in our generation.
- Do you have a message for
students who are job hunting?
